Disney+ has whipped back the curtain on the return of ‘The Artful Dodger‘, with Season 2 set to arrive this February and a bundle of first-look images revealed. Jack Dawkins finds himself in deeper trouble than ever, and the stakes around Port Victory have never been higher.
The new season picks up with Jack staring down an appointment with the noose, being hunted across town by the sharp new lawman Inspector Boxer, and facing the terrible truth that going anywhere near Lady Belle could get him hanged. Meanwhile, Lady Belle is carving her own dangerous path in medicine, driven by ambition and a love story on shaky ground.
Season 2 once again brings back the core cast, with Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Pistol, The Queen’s Gambit) returning as Jack Dawkins, David Thewlis (Landscapers, Fargo) as Fagin, and Maia Mitchell (Good Trouble, The Fosters) as Lady Belle Fox. They are joined by a set of new players who stir the pot even further, including Luke Bracey (Elvis, Hacksaw Ridge) as Inspector Henry Boxer, Jeremy Sims (Mr Inbetween) as Uncle Dickie, and rising star Zac Burgess (Cruel Intentions, Boy Swallows Universe) as Phineas Golden.
Fans of the first season will also see many familiar faces returning. Susie Porter steps back into the formidable Lady Jane Fox, alongside Damien Garvey as Governor Fox and Tim Minchin as the delightfully devious Darius Cracksworth. Lucy-Rose Leonard returns as fan favourite Lady Fanny Fox, with Nicholas Burton back as Dr Sneed and Kim Gyngell once again as The Prof. Luke Carroll and Vivienne Awosoga continue to keep the hospital in order, while Aljin Abella, Brigid Zengeni and Albert Latailakepa slip back into the chaos as Fagin’s loyal gang of thieves.
Disney+ also shared a statement from The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Kylie Watson-Wheeler, who said:

Filmed in Sydney, Australia, the new season is produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Television’s Curio Pictures, with support from the NSW State Government through Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund. Post, digital, and visual effects also received support from Screen NSW.
Curio Pictures’ Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner return as Executive Producer and Producers, with series co-creator James McNamara also serving as Writer and Executive Producer. Cameron Welsh (Foundation, Krypton) returns as Series Producer, with additional writing from Dan Knight, Kate Mulvany and Miranda Tapsell. Directing duties this season fall to Ben Young (The Twelve, Clickbait), Ben C. Lucas (Nautilus, The Survivors), and Gracie Otto (The Artful Dodger, Ladies in Black, Heartbreak High).
