Apple TV has confirmed that ‘Tehran‘ will return early next year with its third season, and the acclaimed espionage thriller has also scored a season four renewal. The next instalment brings back ‘Tehran’s’ signature blend of covert operations, double agents and edge of your seat tension, and teases a major new addition to the cast.
Season three continues the story of Tamar Rabinyan, played once again by Niv Sultan (‘Fauda’), as the Mossad hacker-agent attempts to rebuild both her mission and her sense of purpose after the explosive events of the previous season. Joining her this time is multi Emmy Award nominee Hugh Laurie (‘House’), stepping into the role of Eric Peterson, a South African nuclear inspector whose presence hints at serious global stakes.
The returning cast also includes Shaun Toub (‘Homeland’) and Shila Ommi (‘Little America’), with new season additions Sasson Gabai (‘The Spy’), Phoenix Raei (‘Clickbait’) and Bahar Pars (‘A Man Called Ove’).
A quick refresher for anyone who has not caught up. ‘Tehran’ follows Tamar as she infiltrates the Iranian capital under a false identity. Her last mission ended in disaster, leaving her isolated, grieving and very much off the grid. Season three finds her in reinvention mode. If she wants to survive, she must win back the Mossad’s trust while navigating an increasingly dangerous landscape where every ally could be an enemy.
Alongside the season three premiere confirmation, Apple TV has already renewed ‘Tehran’ for season four, which is currently in production. Seasons one and two are available globally on Apple TV right now.
The series is a co-production between Apple TV and Israeli broadcaster KAN 11, with executive producers Dana Eden, Shula Spiegel, Alon Aranya, Moshe Zonder, Daniel Syrkin, Omri Shenhar, Tony Saint, Dari Shai Slutzky, Tal Fraifeld and Ronny Perry.
‘Tehran‘ Season 3 premieres Friday, 9th January 2026 on Apple TV.
