US Network Fox Orders ‘The Interrogator’, New Spy Drama Series From Stephen Fry

by Dave Elliott

Fox has handed a straight-to-series order to The Interrogator, a new spy drama created by and starring Stephen Fry, as the US broadcaster begins shaping its scripted slate for the 2026–27 season.

The series marks Fox’s second new scripted commission for that season, following the previously announced ‘Baywatch’ reboot. It is a co-production between Lionsgate Television and Fox Entertainment Studios, and continues the network’s current strategy of moving away from traditional pilots in favour of direct-to-series orders.

Written by Fry, with revisions from Matt Pyken (Empire) and Bill Harper (Fire Country), the drama centres on Conrad Henry, a former MI6 agent who leads an elite interrogation team. When conventional intelligence methods fail, Henry’s unusual charm, sharp intellect and psychological sleight of hand allow him to “lockpick” the minds of some of the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Paul McGuigan (Sherlock, Will Trent, Inside Man) is attached to direct, with Fry executive producing alongside Harper, Pyken, Anonymous Content, Neil Burger, and Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and Miriam Mintz.

For Fry, the project marks a return to Fox after a previous recurring role on ‘Bones’. His recent credits include Netflix comedy ‘Too Much’ and BBC’s ‘The Celebrity Traitors’, with upcoming roles in Prime Video’s ‘Red, White & Royal Wedding’ and the film adaptation ‘Frank and Percy’.

From a UK perspective, this one is very much a wait-and-see. As a Fox series produced by Lionsgate Television and Fox Entertainment Studios, there is currently no confirmed UK broadcaster or streaming home. Unlike some US studios, neither has an automatic output deal with a UK network, meaning ‘The Interrogator’ could ultimately land anywhere, or take a while to surface over here.

The Interrogator’ does not yet have a UK premiere date. If I want to keep track of this or any other shows, I can add them via our Never Miss system, and I’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
