Geektown Radio 484: Blake’s 7, Baldur’s Gate, God of War & The Muppets

Blake’s 7 reboot plans, Baldur’s Gate goes TV, God of War casting, and the Muppets return.

by Dave Elliott

After a longer-than-usual break, Geektown Radio is finally back, and Dave is reunited with Matt from Entertainment Talk for a packed episode catching up on everything we have been watching, playing, and obsessing over since December.

Episode 484 kicks off with a proper welcome back, reflections on the Geekstorians spin-off running during the hiatus, and a call for listener feedback as Season 1 heads towards its finale. From there, it turns into a wide-ranging chat covering games, films, prestige TV, renewals, cancellations, and some genuinely fascinating industry news.

Matt dives deep into his latest return to The Last of Us Part II, this time using the newly added chronological mode, and why it fundamentally reshapes how the story lands. He also reviews films including Honey, Don’t! and Hamnet, while Dave rounds up a hefty watchlist featuring Fallout Season 2, Hijack, The Night Manager’s long-awaited return, The Witcher Season 4, The Lincoln Lawyer, Star Trek: Academy, and the new Muppet Show anniversary special, which turns out to be pure, unfiltered Muppet joy.

In the news section, there’s a huge slate of renewals and cancellations to unpack, including Netflix axing The Abandons, major CBS renewals, The Pitt racing ahead to Season 3, and Black Mirror securing another run. There’s also a deep dive into HBO Max’s long-awaited UK launch, what it means for Sky customers, and how Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming future is starting to take shape.

Elsewhere, the conversation turns to Prime Video’s Fallout Shelter reality series, a new adult animated comedy from the Solar Opposites team, casting updates for Amazon’s God of War series, and HBO developing a Baldur’s Gate TV show with Craig Mazin. Dave also breaks down why a Blake’s 7 reboot could quietly be one of the most exciting genre projects in development.
