First Teaser for Netflix’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ Shows Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden as Lizzie and Darcy

Netflix has dropped the first teaser for its new adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, giving fans their first proper look at Emma Corrin (Nosferatu, Black Mirror) and Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Benediction) as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy in Dolly Alderton’s six-part reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic novel, due to arrive in autumn 2026.

The series is written by Alderton (bestselling author of Everything I Know About Love) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), and the pair have said their take hews closely to the original 1813 novel while aiming to bring it to a new generation of viewers.

Joining Corrin and Lowden is a stacked ensemble cast. Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) plays Mrs. Bennet, with Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat, Scoop) as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor (Industry) as Jane Bennet, and Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper, Cabaret) as Lydia Bennet. Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats, Barbie) takes on the wonderfully insufferable Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) plays Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge (Disclaimer) steps in as the charming and problematic Mr. Wickham. Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) rounds out the major players as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

Corrin, who also earns an executive producer credit on the series, said of taking on the role: “Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To be able to bring this iconic character to life, alongside Olivia and Jack, with Dolly’s phenomenal scripts, is truly the greatest honour. I can’t wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story all over again.”

Alderton herself added: “Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story, and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy — it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life.”

The series is produced by Lookout Point, with Netflix executive Mona Qureshi describing it as “the ultimate romantic comedy” when the project was first announced.
