Apple TV has released a first look at ‘Star City‘, the highly anticipated new drama that expands the world of ‘For All Mankind’ from the same award-winning creative team. The eight-episode series is set to debut globally in May.
A bold companion piece to the critically acclaimed alt-history space-race saga, ‘Star City’ shifts the perspective dramatically, taking viewers behind the Iron Curtain to explore the Soviet side of the space race at the pivotal moment the USSR became the first nation to put a man on the moon. It’s described as a propulsive paranoid thriller, following the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers embedded within the Soviet space programme, and the extraordinary risks they all took to push humankind forward.
The series boasts a seriously impressive cast. Rhys Ifans (House of the Dragon), Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland), Agnes O’Casey (Black Doves), Alice Englert (Bad Behaviour), Solly McLeod (House of the Dragon), Adam Nagaitis (Chernobyl), Ruby Ashbourne Serkis (I, Jack Wright), Josef Davies (Andor), and Priya Kansara (Bridgerton) all star.
‘Star City’ is created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, with Wolpert and Nedivi serving as showrunners. They executive produce alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, plus Andrew Chambliss and Steve Oster. The series is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.
‘Star City‘ premieres Friday, 29th May 2025 on Apple TV in the UK and worldwide, with two episodes dropping on launch day, followed by one new episode every Friday through to 10th July.
