Hulu Renews ‘Paradise’ For Season 3 Ahead Of Season 2 Finale

by Dave Elliott

Paradise is heading back for another run, with Hulu renewing the acclaimed drama for Season 3 ahead of the Season 2 finale later this month. In the UK, Season 2 is currently airing on Disney+.

Created by Dan Fogelman (This Is Us), the series stars Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us, American Fiction) and has become one of Hulu’s standout drama hits. According to Disney, Season 2 has pulled in 30 million hours of viewing, while Season 1 added another 25 million hours following the new season’s launch. The show has also held a place in Hulu’s Top 15 list since Season 2 returned in February.

Set in a world shaped by catastrophe, ‘Paradise’ blends political thriller tension with post-apocalyptic mystery, following Xavier Collins as he uncovers dangerous secrets and fights to protect the people closest to him. Season 2 has widened the scale of the story even further, and clearly enough people have been watching for Hulu to want more.

After the events of the Season 1 finale, Xavier heads out from the Paradise bunker for the first time since the planet’s destruction in search of his wife, Teri. Along the way, he encounters groups of survivors and begins to uncover how people managed to stay alive in the years after catastrophe struck Earth. Back in Colorado, tensions continue to rise as the community struggles with broken trust and newly exposed secrets.

Alongside Brown, the Season 2 cast includes Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown), Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue), Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest), Nicole Brydon Bloom (The Gilded Age), Krys Marshall (For All Mankind), Aliyah Mastin (The Family Business: New Orleans), Percy Daggs IV (Never Let Go) and Charlie Evans (The Park), with recurring guest stars James Marsden (Westworld), Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Thomas Doherty (Gossip Girl) and Jon Beavers (The Long Home).

The renewal is not much of a surprise. ‘Paradise’ earned four Emmy nominations for its first season, including Outstanding Drama Series, and has built a strong reputation with both critics and audiences. Hulu has not yet announced when Season 3 will premiere.

Paradise does not yet have a UK premiere date for Season 3, but Seasons 1 and 2 air on Disney+ in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
