‘Not Suitable for Work‘ is heading to Disney+ UK this June, as the streamer has revealed a first look at the new comedy from Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, The Sex Lives of College Girls).
Set in Manhattan’s glossy Murray Hill neighbourhood, the series follows five fiercely ambitious twenty-somethings trying to climb the professional ladder while somehow finding room for an actual personal life. So, basically, a very normal and completely stress-free existence.
Created by Kaling, the comedy looks set to lean into the same sharp, chaotic energy that has made her previous shows such a hit, this time shifting the focus to a group of work-obsessed young New Yorkers juggling careers, friendships and whatever is left of their sanity.
The cast includes Ella Hunt (Dickinson), Avantika (Mean Girls), Will Angus (notable credits TBC), Jack Martin (La Brea), Nicholas Duvernay (Purple Hearts), and Jay Ellis (Top Gun: Maverick). Recurring guest stars include Victor Garber (Alias), Greg Germann (Ally McBeal), Judy Gold (Better Things), Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), Harry Richardson (The Gilded Age), Constance Wu (Fresh Off the Boat), Laura Bell Bundy (Anger Management), May Hong (Tales of the City), Bhavesh Patel (The Peripheral), Emilia Suárez (Up Here), and Michael Benjamin Washington (American Auto).
Behind the scenes, Kaling executive produces alongside showrunner Charlie Grandy, with Howard Klein also serving as executive producer. The series is produced by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television.
If Disney is after another buzzy ensemble comedy with a slightly glossy, slightly chaotic energy, this feels very much in that lane. And with a rollout that starts with three episodes before dropping two episodes weekly, they clearly want people talking about it for a few weeks rather than inhaling the whole thing in one caffeine-fuelled sitting.
‘Not Suitable for Work’ premieres Tuesday, 2nd June 2026 on Disney+ in the UK.
