‘Gangs of London‘ is officially back in production, with Sky confirming filming is now underway on Series 4 of the bruising crime drama for Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland, and AMC+ in the US.
The new run sees Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (My Father’s Shadow), Michelle Fairley (Queen Charlotte), Andrew Koji (Warrior), Narges Rashidi (Prisoner 951), Brian Vernel (Slow Horses), Orli Shuka (Black Bag), T’Nia Miller (Years & Years), Valene Kane (Blue Lights) and Pippa Bennett-Warner (See How They Run) all returning, as the battle for control of London’s criminal underworld takes another vicious turn.
There are also some notable new names joining ‘Gangs of London’ for Series 4. Tamara Lawrance (Small Axe) comes in as Jo Malik, alongside Luna Fujimoto (Sniper: G.R.I.T.-Global Response & Intelligence Team) as Hanaka, Eugene Nomura (Tokyo Vice) as Takeshi Kimura, and Melika Foroutan (The Empress) as Zerin.
This time around, the pressure is rising from all sides. As the threat of legalisation and government crackdowns begins to close in, London’s gangs are pushed into an increasingly unstable fight for survival. Elliot Carter finds himself drawn back to the capital on what Sky describes as a bloodied path to redemption, just as old alliances start to fracture and new powers begin moving into place. With Zeek Kimura returning backed by an overseas syndicate, it sounds like things are going to get very messy, very quickly.
Behind the camera, there is a bit of a shake-up too. Jack Lothian (Strike Back, Who Is Erin Carter?) joins as lead writer and executive producer, while Jean Luc Herbulot (Zero, Saloum) takes on lead directing duties. Additional episodes are written by Kevin Rundle, Jerome Bucchan-Nelson, Meg Salter and Abi Hynes, with Lynsey Miller and Eran Creevy also directing.
Originally created by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, ‘Gangs of London’ has built a reputation for delivering some of the most ferocious action on TV, so it will be interesting to see how this new creative team puts its stamp on the next chapter while keeping that same brutal energy intact.
‘Gangs of London‘ Series 4 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Sky and NOW in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
