After a bit of a wait for UK viewers, ‘Will Trent‘ Season 4 finally has a UK premiere date, with the hit ABC crime drama set to land on Disney+ UK this June.
Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling book series, ‘Will Trent’ stars Ramón Rodríguez (The Wire) as Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Abandoned at birth and raised in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system, Will has grown into one of the GBI’s sharpest investigators, using his unique perspective to help ensure no one is forgotten in the way he once was.
The series has quietly become one of ABC’s strongest procedural dramas, mixing crime-of-the-week cases with a healthy amount of character drama, trauma, awkward emotional honesty, and, of course, Betty the chihuahua, who remains one of television’s finest tiny scene-stealers.
Season 4 sees Will and the team back dealing with more complicated cases across Atlanta, while the personal fallout from previous seasons continues to make their lives considerably messier than anyone in law enforcement would ideally like. The new run consists of 18 episodes, following its US launch earlier this year on ABC and Hulu.
Returning cast includes Ramón Rodríguez (The Wire) as Will Trent, Erika Christensen (Parenthood) as Angie Polaski, Iantha Richardson (This Is Us) as Faith Mitchell, Jake McLaughlin (Quantico) as Michael Ormewood, Sonja Sohn (The Wire) as Amanda Wagner, and Kevin Daniels (Modern Family) as Franklin Wilks.
There is also good news for fans worried about the show’s future, as ABC has already renewed ‘Will Trent’ for Season 5. That means UK viewers can head into Season 4 knowing the GBI’s best-dressed, most emotionally complicated detective is not disappearing from screens just yet.
