A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder To End With Third & Final Series As BBC Confirms Return

by Dave Elliott

The BBC has announced that A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will return for a third and final series, completing the screen adaptation of Holly Jackson’s bestselling book trilogy.

The final chapter, based on Jackson’s third novel, As Good As Dead, has already been filmed and will arrive on BBC iPlayer next year. It will bring Pip’s story, and her ultimate investigation, to what sounds like a suitably dark and twisty conclusion.

Produced by Moonage Pictures, part of ITV Studios, in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo, ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ stars Emma Myers (Wednesday, A Minecraft Movie) as Pip Fitz-Amobi. Myers also serves as an executive producer on the new series.

Returning alongside her are Zain Iqbal (All Crazy Random) as Ravi Singh, Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane, Outlander) as Max Hastings, Asha Banks (The Magic Flute) as Cara Ward, Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go) as Connor Reynolds, Eden Hambelton Davies (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder) as Jamie Reynolds, and Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz) as Lauren Gibson.

The series is produced by Sophie Klein and Sophie MacClancy, and directed by Tom Vaughan. Executive producers are Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Danielle Scott-Haughton and Katherine Bond for the BBC; alongside Holly Jackson, Emma Myers and Tom Vaughan.

“I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion. As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.” said Holly Jackson.

Emma Myers added: “I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone series 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

“We’ve loved seeing A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder prove so popular with viewers on the BBC. I know its many, many passionate fans will be as delighted as we are to know that the third part of Holly Jackson’s trilogy has already filmed and will be arriving on screens next year. Bring it on!” commented Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama.

The BBC will premiere the third and final series exclusively on BBC iPlayer, BBC One and BBC Three in the UK. Netflix will premiere the series outside of the UK, excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where it will be available exclusively on ZDFneo; Australia, where it will be exclusively on Stan; and New Zealand, where it will be exclusively on Sky NZ. BBC Studios is handling global sales.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Season 3 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on BBC iPlayer, BBC One and BBC Three in the UK next year.
