Prime Video has announced five more additions to ‘Boys of Tommen’, its upcoming romantic drama based on the bestselling novels by Irish author Chloe Walsh, as production gets underway.
Eoin Macken (La Brea, Ransom Canyon) will play Teddy Lynch, with Róisín Gallagher (The Dry, The Lovers) cast as Marie Lynch and Amy Huberman (Finding Joy, Derry Girls) taking the role of Edel Kavanagh. The three characters are parents whose choices will have a major impact on the lives of the drama’s young leads.
Also joining the cast are Jamie Schneider (The Midnight Sky, Malory Towers) as Patrick Feely, completing the group known to readers as the Core 10, and James Craven (Geek Girl, Curfew) as Pierce O’Neill.
‘Boys of Tommen’ follows the forbidden romance between Johnny Kavanagh, a star rugby player on the verge of a professional career, and Shannon Lynch, a talented but painfully shy new pupil at the prestigious Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland.
Both teenagers are hiding secrets. Johnny is attempting to conceal a potentially career-ending injury, while Shannon is struggling with a troubled and violent home life. Despite coming from very different worlds, their secret and highly charged connection gives them the chance to help save one another.
The new additions join Nancy Surridge as Shannon Lynch, Conor Sánchez as Johnny Kavanagh, James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs, John Hewson as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young and Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs.
The cast also includes Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan and Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry.
The first season has been adapted by Poppy Cogan (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder) from Binding 13 and Keeping 13, the first two novels in Walsh’s bestselling series.
Cogan also executive produces alongside author Chloe Walsh, wiip’s Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and Sean Flanagan, Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman and Annika Patton, and Drama Republic’s Greg Brenman and Deena Butt.
Brendan Canty (Christy) directs the series, with Ingrid Goodwin serving as series producer. The drama is produced by wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Metropolitan providing local production services.
‘Boys of Tommen’ will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
