Prime Video has released a new batch of images from ‘Kill Jackie‘, its upcoming eight-part revenge thriller starring Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Wednesday), ahead of its launch this autumn.
Based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by Sunday Times bestselling author Nick Harkaway, writing as Aidan Truhen, the series follows Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler who has spent the past 20 years enjoying a luxurious and deliberately anonymous existence.
Jackie travels the world selling fine art, living the good life and keeping her dangerous past firmly buried. Unfortunately, retirement starts looking considerably less relaxing when she discovers that The Seven Demons, a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her.
Convinced that someone from her former life is responsible, Jackie decides the best form of defence is a very aggressive offence. She dusts off her old instincts and sets out to eliminate the assassins one by one before they can get to her.
However, as the pursuit intensifies, Jackie realises that her own demons may be far more dangerous than the ruthless killers on her trail, while her buried secrets begin leading her closer to home.
Alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, the cast includes Daniel Ings (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, The Gentlemen), Sidse Babett Knudsen (Prime Target, Borgen), Óscar Jaenada (Rambo V, Cantinflas), Hattie Hook (Of An Age, Ten Pound Poms), Darci Shaw (A Thousand Blows, This City is Ours), Raff Law (Masters of the Air, Triton), Enzo Cilenti (Black Mirror, The Crown), Christine Adams (Hijack, Malice) and Julian Rhind-Tutt (Britannia, Napoleon).
The wider ensemble also features Karlis Arnolds Avots (Soviet Jeans, Lovable), Set Sjöstrand (The Wheel of Time, Valhalla), Tadashi Ito (Society of the Snow, The Platform 2), Sebastian Armesto (Gangs of London, A Small Light), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh, The Great), Gavin Spokes (House of the Dragon, Slow Horses), Jonathan Cake (And Just Like That, Camping), Bamshad Abedi-Amin (A Town Called Malice, The Last Kingdom), Bill Paterson (Fleabag, Criminal Justice) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy).
‘Kill Jackie’ comes from creatives behind Killing Eve and Gangs of London. The series was co-created by Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas, with Butterworth serving as writer and showrunner. Thomas is the lead director, while Keane co-wrote the television adaptation and serves as an associate producer.
The series is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures, with Catherine Zeta-Jones also serving as an executive producer alongside Peter Lawson, Jose Agustin Valdes, Tom Butterworth, Damon Thomas, Rebecca Dundon, Dante Di Loreto and Jeffrey Levine. Nick Harkaway serves as executive consultant.
The new images offer another look at Jackie’s glamorous but increasingly lethal world, along with the series’ stylish blend of revenge thriller, international crime drama and high-octane action.
