Apple TV has released the trailer for ‘Last Seen’, a new Australian thriller starring Patrick Brammall (Colin from Accounts, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Evil), which lands on the streaming service this September.
Adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s CWA John Creasey Dagger Award-winning novel The Dispatcher, the six-part drama follows police detective Ian Ridley, whose life fell apart when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace 11 years earlier.
Now working as a police dispatcher, Ian has never accepted that Maggie is gone for good. Everything changes when he receives a distress call from a teenage girl and becomes convinced the voice on the other end belongs to his missing daughter. That sends him back into the search which destroyed his old life, determined to find her whatever the cost.
The trailer for ‘Last Seen’ certainly leans into the mystery around that call. Is Ian finally hearing from Maggie after more than a decade, or is his desperation leading him somewhere far more dangerous? Either way, it looks like the sort of grim, twisty thriller where pulling at one loose thread is probably going to unravel quite a lot more than anyone expected.
Alongside Brammall, the cast includes Maxine Peake (Say Nothing, Black Mirror), Brendan Cowell (Dune: Prophecy, Plum), Daniel Henshall (Mickey 17, How to Make Gravy), Zahra Newman (Thirteen Lives, Addition), Jessica Wren (Mr. Inbetween, Devil’s Playground), Tobias Muhafidin (Bali 2002) and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.
The series has been adapted by writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa (Requiem, No Escape, The Murders at White House Farm), with Emmy-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow (The Crown, Bad Banks, Munich: The Edge of War) directing and executive producing. The drama is entirely set and filmed in Victoria, Australia.

‘Last Seen’ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 9th September 2026 on Apple TV, launching with two episodes followed by a new episode every Wednesday.
