Sky appears to have quietly snapped up the UK rights to ‘The Terror: Devil in Silver‘, with the third installment of AMC’s acclaimed horror anthology now appearing in the Sky Atlantic schedules for later this month.
There has been no formal announcement from Sky yet, so the current transmission details should probably be treated as provisional for the moment. However, listings currently have a double bill beginning at 2am, followed by a primetime airing from 9pm later the same day.
The six-episode ‘The Terror: Devil in Silver’ stars Dan Stevens (Abigail, Downton Abbey) as Pepper, a working-class moving man whose combination of bad luck and a bad temper sees him wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital, an institution filled with people society would rather forget.
Once inside, Pepper finds himself dealing with patients working against him, doctors harboring some extremely grim secrets, and possibly even the Devil himself. As he attempts to escape New Hyde, he discovers that his only route to freedom may involve confronting whatever is feeding on the suffering within its walls.
Alongside Dan Stevens, the impressive ensemble includes Judith Light (Before, Out of My Mind), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, This Way Up), Hampton Fluker (Shades of Blue, Instant Family), CCH Pounder (Rustin, NCIS: New Orleans), Chinaza Uche (Silo, A Good Person), Stephen Root (Barry, Heads of State), John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C, Lilly), Michael Aronov (The Americans, Operation Finale), Philip Ettinger (First Reformed, I Know This Much Is True) and Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete, Glass Chin).
The new installment is based on Victor LaValle’s novel of the same name, with LaValle serving as co-showrunner alongside Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire). Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets) directs the first two episodes, while Ridley Scott returns as an executive producer through Scott Free Productions. Stevens also serves as an executive producer.
For UK viewers, the move also gives the anthology another new home. The first two seasons originally aired on AMC’s UK channel before subsequently being picked up by BBC Two. The opening season followed the doomed Franklin expedition as its crews became trapped in the Arctic, while the second shifted the action to a Japanese-American community facing both the horrors of internment during World War II and a supernatural threat.
After a gap of nearly seven years, ‘The Terror: Devil in Silver’ finally revived the anthology in the US earlier this year, launching on AMC+ and Shudder in May. This time around the ice and historical wartime setting have gone, but judging by the setup, life inside New Hyde doesn’t appear to be any more relaxing…
‘The Terror: Devil in Silver‘ Season 3 is currently scheduled to premiere Sunday, 23rd August 2026 at 2am on Sky Atlantic with a double bill, followed by a primetime airing from 9pm.
