New detective series set on the Welsh coast. As with the first series, it’ll likely premiere in three stages, firstly in Wales on S4C (13th September 2015) and then on BBC Wales as Y Gwyll in Welsh. The English-language version will be broadcast on BBC Four to all four parts of the country later.

A trailer for a new series of Hinterland has been airing on the BBC. It starts on BBC Four next Saturday (23rd April) at 9 pm.
I believe that S4C have already renewed it for a second series to be broadcast at some stage this year. I enjoyed it both on S4C and BBC Wales. Welsh title was “Y Gwyll”
Series 1 seems to have been broadcast in January 2014.
I think (and correct me if I’m wrong) that was just BBC One Wales. Technically, the UK premiere was last year on S4C, but that was in Welsh. The English language premiere is the one you mention, and the forthcoming BBC Four one, which we have listed, will be UK-wide. So, I understand it is actually the third run, but hopefully you can see my logic…
I have just found that Hinterland 2 was only shown on Welsh TV and cannot g the first episodes on on BBC player.A good programme wasted
