‘In Contempt’ stars Jodie Whittaker (Frauds, Toxic Town, Doctor Who, Dear England) as Olivia Savareid, a highly regarded barrister specialising in media law, defamation, privacy and reputation management.
With an impressive client list, Olivia has built her career defending people’s reputations and handling multi-million-pound litigation designed to stop damaging stories from being published or spreading across social media.
Her work frequently puts her alongside Greg Dalman, the News Director of a London daily newspaper and an experienced journalist known for pushing the boundaries of what he can publish when he believes a story is in the public interest. As his legal counsel, Olivia must use all her skills to keep him out of libel court.
Alongside the pressures of her career, Olivia is also mother to a 15-year-old daughter. But when an explosive situation at work leads her to make a crucial misjudgement, Olivia suddenly finds her own reputation under threat.
