City of Bones

To help celebrate the launch of the pilot episode of ‘Bosch‘ coming to Lovefilm this month, we’re giving away 10 copies of ‘City of Bones’ from author Michael Connelly, on which the pilot is based.

When the bones of a boy are found scattered in the Hollywood Hills, Harry Bosch is drawn into a case that brings up dark memories from his past… Unearthing hidden stories, he finds the child’s identity and reconstructs his fractured life, determined that he won’t be forgotten. At the same time, a new love affair with a female cop begins to blossom – until a stunningly blown mission leaves him in more trouble than ever before. The investigation races to a shocking conclusion and leaves Bosch on the brink of an unimaginable decision…

The new pilot episode is written by Michael himself along with Eric Overmeyer (The Wire) and stars Titus Welliver (Argo, The Good Wife), Lance Reddick (The Wire, Fringe) Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead) and Jamie Hector (The Wire).

The full episode will be free to view on Lovefilm in early February, which you’ll be able to watch whether you have a subscription or not. If the pilot is to go on and become a full-fledged 12-episode series it needs viewer support. Once you’ve watched the episode, Lovefilm have a quick survey and a 5-star rating system for you to complete at the end. Lovefilm will make their final decision based on your consumer feedback.

Help! Having watched the Bosch pilot on Amazon, I wanted to re-read City of Bones, but my husband won’t let me! He has three autographed copies of the book, but each one is completely encased in a cellophane-like wrapper, and he has forbidden me from opening any of them. I want to Win a copy of City of Bones and here’s why.
Every Winter I pick a new author to read. Last August I watched the Lincoln Lawyer and thought WOW! That was an awesome movie. So Michael Connelly was the author I picked. I got on the internet and looked up all his novels to date. I started looking for any and all of his books via the internet, library, thrift stores etc…..and was able to find all of them that he has written.. Most of them I was able to purchase so I have a lot of them in my personal library. The City of Bones I am reading again just to refresh my memory. In my opinion Michael Connelly, You are the one of the best authors I have read to date, and believe me I read a lot.
I would love to win any of your books. But winning a book that you have picked to run as a TV pilot and future TV Show would make me very happy. I am already dreaming up ways to display it in my library!!

Michael Connelly is our favourite author and we have his complete set of books that he has written. We met Michael and had our picture taken with him at The Sleuth of Baker Street book store in 2001 after he signed 9 of his first edition books for us. He teasingly referred to us as his “cousins”. We were so thrilled to have met him in person. Will always remember that. It would be so awesome to win one of these books. We’re are looking forward to seeing the pilot.
