Hartley Sawyer Cast As Elongated Man In ‘The Flash’ Season 4
As we reported a few weeks ago, ‘The Flash‘ will be getting a stretchy helping hand from a new superhero when the show returns for Season 4 in the Autumn. Now we can put a name to the actor that will take on the role of Elongated Man – Hartley Sawyer.
Ralph Dibny, aka Elongated Man, is a brilliant, fast-talking PI with the ability to drastically change the shape of his body, but is having a difficult time changing his ways… In the comics, Ralph is a good friend of Barry Allen, a member of the JLA, and uses a special fruit extract to activate his meta-gene, and stretch himself into any shape he wants. Whether they stick with that as his background for the TV show, or go with him being hit by the particle accelerator, remains to be seen.
Hartley Sawyer might not be a name you recognise in the UK, but is probably best known in the US as Kyle Abbott in ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s also popped up in ‘Glory Daze’, ‘Suburgatory’ and ‘Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23’.
He’ll be joining Neil Sandilands (‘The 100’) who was cast as ‘The Thinker’ (this season’s ‘big bad’), and Kim Engelbrecht (‘Dominion’), who play’s The Thinker’s sidekick ‘The Mechanic’. He may also run into ‘Breacher’, father of Gypsy (Jessica Camacho), played by the legendary Danny Trejo.
‘The Flash Season 4′ is set to air Tuesday, October 10th on The CW in the US, so expect it to land on Sky 1, late October in the UK.
