It’s been a bit of a wait, but The Expanse Season 2 finally lands on Netflix UK from Friday, 8th September 2017 it has been announced.

Set hundreds of years in the future, humans have colonized the solar system, with the U.N. controlling Earth, and Mars becoming an independent military power. The planets rely on the resources of the Asteroid Belt, where air and water are more precious than gold. For decades, tensions have been rising between these 3 places. Earth, Mars and the Belt are now on the brink of war… And all it will take is a single spark.

The main story follows two strangers – a hardened detective, Joe Miller (Thomas Jane), and a rogue ship’s captain, James Holden (Steven Strait) – who become unwittingly swept up in a vast conspiracy to cover up a horrific human experiment. Season 2 kicks off with interplanetary tensions at an all-time high and the cold war between Earth and Mars on the brink of an all-out battle.

The show was developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby for Syfy US and is based on the novels by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (published under the pseudonym James S. A. Corey.) Season 1 garnered a huge amount of praise from both fans and critics, landing nominations for Saturn and Hugo Awards. If you’re a sci-fi fan and have not caught up with this series yet, and are looking for something to binge watch, I urge you to go to Netflix right now and work your way through Season 1 before the 2nd Season drops.

The Expanse Season 2 will air on Netflix UK from Friday, 8th September 2017.

Well it’s a bit late now. It was delayed so long I got fed up waiting, imported the already-released US DVD, and have now watched it already. Biggest distribution screwup I’ve ever seen. I’d love to know which genius managed it.

For a property made famous by its availability on streaming, they somehow managed to turn it 180 into a huge push towards piracy instead.

It comes direct from Netflix… We don’t post news stories about dates unless they’re verified.
