‘Westworld’ Season 2 Gains ‘Vikings’ Gustaf Skarsgård

Westworld will be gaining a Viking when it returns for Season 2. No, they’re not introducing Vikingworld (although that would be awesome,) but they are adding ‘Vikings’ actor Gustaf Skarsgård.

HBO has not released a whole lot of info on Gustaf’s character, other than he’s a series regular called Karl Strand, and he’s a white-collar guy comfortable in the field… whatever that means. Gustaf is best known for playing the wonderfully crazy Floki in History Channel’s ‘Vikings’ (also airs on Amazon in the UK), but has also appeared in movies such as ‘The Way Back’, and various films & tv in his native Sweden. He comes from one of Sweden’s foremost acting families which includes his father Stellan Skarsgård (‘Good Will Hunting’, ‘The Hunt for Red October’ and Dr. Erik Selvig in the MCU), brother Bill Skarsgård (‘Allegiant’, ‘IT’, ‘Hemlock Grove’), and brother Alexander Skarsgård (‘True Blood’, ‘Big Little Lies’, ‘The Legend of Tarzan’.)

Also announced joining the ‘Westworld’ cast as a series regular is ‘Tyrant’ star Fares Fares. He will play Antoine Costa, a tech expert with an objective perspective. He’s a Swedish-Lebanese actor who has also popped up in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ as Senator Vaspar, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, and ‘Safe House’ starring Denzel Washington & Ryan Reynolds.

Additionally to those 2 actors, Betty Gabriel will join as recurring character Maling, who is tasked with the job of trying to restore order on the ground. She is probably best known for starring in US series ‘Good Girls Revolt’, and the movie ‘The Purge: Election Year’.

These 3 join previously announced new cast members Neil Jackson (Sleepy Hollow’s Headless Horseman) whose playing Nicholas, a charming, resourceful man who finds himself in uncharted territory; Jonathan Tucker (‘Kingdom’, ‘Parenthood’, ‘Hannibal’), who is portraying Major Craddock, a commanding military officer; And Katja Herbers (‘The Leftovers’, ‘Divorce’, ‘Manhattan’), who plays Grace, a seasoned guest in Westworld whose latest visit comes at the park’s darkest hour…

Westworld‘ Season is set to air on Sky Atlantic in 2018.
