Channel 4 Announces August Air Date For ‘The Great British Bake Off’

The national institution which is The Great British Bake Off will air for the first time on its new home, Channel 4, from Tuesday, 29 August 2017 at 8pm the channel has announced.

The new series sees Paul Hollywood joined by new judge Prue Leith, along with new hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding, as they put prospective baking masters through their paces. The 10 part series will run a little longer (1hr 15mins) on Channel 4 due to the network wanting to keep the show the same length as the BBC iteration, but having to fit in ad breaks.

Jo Brand is also returning as host of ‘The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice’, from Thursday, August 31st at 10pm. The series will follow all of the events in the tent, showing exclusive footage and unseen moments. Each week Jo will be joined by celebrity fans of the show who will offer their verdict on each week’s bakes and debate their favourite baker. Jo and guests will also get to sample some of the ambitious bakes brought in by the eager studio audience.

The Great British Bake Off‘ Series 8 comes to Channel 4 from Tuesday, 29 August 2017 at 8pm.
