Regarding the whole “Gotham airing in the UK” fiasco. Channel 5 DO have the rights to season 3, but were unable to air it, for reasons we’re not allowed to get into… They were hoping to air it in Autumn 2017, but as yet, that hasn’t happened. Gotham Season 3 DVD & Blu-ray came out on the 28th August, which means Season 3 technically “premiered” on disc. Season 3 then arrived on Netflix a few days later.
So the big question is, “what is happening with future seasons of Gotham?” The good news is that E4 has now picked up Gotham Season 4, so Gotham finally has a new home in the UK – E4.

when is the Final Season of gotham STARTS
According to this site it will start on E4 next month. Some people said a few days ago that they’ve already seen adverts on the channel saying it’s ‘Coming Soon’

I presume this means you have somehow managed to find out why it didn’t get aired. Do you think that season 3 will be coming on TV anytime soon, either on Channel 5 one of their channels or Channel 4 or one of their channels?
The only ways to catch up on Season 3 are to either buy the DVD or BluRay or watch it on Netflix. If you don’t normally use the later you can sign up and do a 30 day free trial for the first month.
Thanks Sarah. I wish I knew about this earlier as I would have done the Neflix free trial before I moved. My new home doesn’t have that fast internet, so looks i’ll be getting the blu-ray.
Had Gotham on my planner to watch as I was at work when it was on the tv, just put it on and wondered what was going on, didn’t recognize half the characters or any of the storyline, then noticed it was Season 4 what happened to season 3 haven’t got a clue what’s going on now.
Season 3 only aired in the UK on Netflix and is available on disc from Amazon
Season 3 was released straight to DVD and BluRay on August 28th last and started streaming on Netflix four days later so if you don’t normally use the latter you can sign up and do a free trial for the first month
At least we’re actually getting S4 before it comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray this time
Does anyone have any ideas whether series 3 will be available to download via Sky On Demand? Failing that, I’ll have to buy the previous 3 series on Blu Ray to catch up

Just seen a teaser on E4 saying it was the new home of Gotham. Looked like it will be showing season 4. No start date other than ‘coming soon’. Looks promising though.

No news yet about who will have the rights to Season 4 as Channel 5 and FOX UK were apparently involved in a rights dispute over who would air Season 3, which led to a straight to DVD and BluRay release followed by Netflix picking it up a few days later.

I asked on a Netflix UK and Ireland Facebook fan page last week if they would be showing it hours after the US airing like they do for other shows and the reply I got was that they have no news yet

There are episodes of gotham airing at 3.10am all next week on c5. Unclear from the listings I saw which season it is. We’ll find out next week. may be repeats but you wouldnt put it past them to just dump season three in a graveyard slot

Even though I watch my shows at US pace and have already seen Season 3 I think Channel 5 should just hand over the rights to Netflix at this stage since they air ‘Better Call Saul’ the day after the US airing and also have the rights to ‘Designated Survivor’.
5USA and FOX UK aired ‘Breaking Bad’ early on in its run before Netflix took over airing the episodes hours after the US airing. 5USA also aired the first four seasons of ‘Archer’ before the rights were sold to Netflix, which now has the most recent seasons the month after they finish in the US.
I wouldn’t say Netflix cuz not everyone can get it. I think they should give it to a different channel that’s more up to date with the programmes

If season 3 is coming out on DVD in August then I’m gonna just wait to get the DVD instead of waiting for it to come on the TV. Season 3 hasn’t even started in the UK yet and they’re talking about season 4 already. Channel 5 really annoys me. I’ve been checking this page for months and it always says summer 2017 which doesn’t help. If Channel 5 can’t show Gotham on the TV when it’s less than 2 months before it comes on DVD then Channel 5 shouldn’t show it
How crap are channel 5 with this show! They must have bought the rights to show this at the cheapest option (air it when it’s finishing airing in America). It’s an insult to the show and the quality. if they’re not going to treat a show with respect and it more in line with the other countries including America, then don’t buy it and let a channel who will air it sooner and respect the product more and its fans.

Hey Chris, where did you read that Fox have acquired the rights? I’ve had a look online, but haven’t found anything. Great news though, at least Fox will show Gotham properly, unlike C5 who seem to increasingly frustrate with how they deal with their acquisitions of US shows.

Deliberately avoided watching first two episodes of Gotham while on holiday at my daughters in Texas at start of October. That’s nearly six months. Really disappointed. Looks like it’s going to be Kodi then.
Summer 2017 or later. That’s crazy. I understand Channel 5 delaying the broadcast of Season 3 so they can broadcast it with no breaks, but why almost a year later after the US premiere. They really know how to keep an audience don’t they, but hey I’m sure Big Brother will be on for most of the year, so no room for any other programming. At least there’s Netflix, that’s probably a better option to catch the next season of Gotham.

I am pretty sure all DC shows are taking trying to annoy their fans! Arrow has had a mid-season finally, the Flash has had a mid-season finally, Constantine has had a mid-season finally and Gotham has had a mid-season finally! Although the most annoying thing is that the only information we have for Gotham is that it will start sometime in the spring 2015… Gee, thanks that narrows it down!

DC doesn’t schedule them and unfortunately mid season breaks are very very normal and common for US television programmes, both with or without superheroes

Wow, I didn’t even realise I did that. Thanks! I have to admit I was really mad when I wrote that message but that was only because all of my favourite shows were having a mid-season finale. I didn’t know that most US shows had them.
Looks like Channel 5 are taking the smeg with these TV shows, first it was Person of Interest (which do not get me started with! Great show but Channel 5 are the worst), then it was Helix and now looks like they are doing the same with Gotham!
Wonder how it faired in the ratings, either way it started 22nd September and we got it 13th October, which is 3 weeks apart and I can handle waiting 3 weeks. But Gotham has started again in on the 5th Jan and back to normal on the 19th, but for some reason instead of us getting part 2 in February we are told Spring (which isn’t helpful or narrow it down at all).
Its actually got to the point where I don’t trust Channel 5 to show anything all the way through and in decent time, which is why I have started to download season 3 Person of Interest and will be doing the same with Gotham if they don’t get this sorted!
The TV companies here complain about piracy too, I wonder why that happens!

Spring is months away. Nobody said it would take that long. It’s on a Christmas break, and will be back (as you note) in a few weeks probably, which is before Spring.

Secondly, it would be interesting to hear where you heard that fascinating insight into Sky1- we rarely hear of such things publicly.

I hope to goodness that this get’s good ratings/viewing figures in the states. I’m witnessing countless drama series there that don’t get second seasons because of poor figures.
It’s getting good ratings for its premiere, which is all there is to go on.
On the other hand, something like Big Bang Theory seems to run forever, getting astonishing ratings, neither of which I understand.
