Alice Eve Joins ‘Iron Fist’ Season 2
Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist‘ has announced it’s first new addition when the show returns for its 2nd Season – ‘Star Trek’ star Alice Eve.
Whilst her role is being kept secret for the moment, she will be joining Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick for a (hopefully…) much improved new season. The British actress has popped up in tv and films such as ‘Entourage’, ‘Black Mirror’, and ‘Men in Black 3’. However, it’s her role in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ for which she’s probably best known… if only for the horribly out of place, infamous, underwear shot. She has recently completed filming the movies ‘Please Stand By’ with Dakota Fanning and ‘Replicas’ with Keanu Reeves.
“We are very excited to have an actress of Alice’s stature join the cast of ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist,’” comment Marvel’s head of, well… everything, Jeph Loeb. “Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else.”
‘Iron Fist’ has pretty much been universally graded as the worst of the Marvel/Netflix series so far, but with a change of showrunner behind the camera, there is a glimmer of hope that Season 2 will be a lot better. Scott Buck, who was the showrunner for Season 1, has not had a good year. ‘Iron Fist’ was heavily panned by critics, as was his other show ‘Marvel’s Inhumans’. He’s now been replaced by Raven Metzner, who has had some experience with Marvel before, as he was the writer of the 2005 ‘Elektra’ movie. He also served as writer/producer on ‘Falling Skies’, and writer, producer & showrunner on ‘Sleepy Hollow’. Let’s hope he does a better job than his predecessor.
‘Iron Fist’ stars Finn Jones as Billionaire Danny Rand, who returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
There is currently no release date for Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist’, although we know ‘Luke Cage’ Season 2, ‘Jessica Jones’ Season 2 and ‘Daredevil’ Season 3 are due to come out first. It’s likely we won’t see Danny Rand back in his own series until 2019, although he is due to pop up before then with Luke Cage in his 2nd Season in 2018.
