For someone who is nearly as fast as The Flash, ‘Supergirl‘ has been lagging behind her fellow DC superheroes this year in the UK. That all changes when the Girl of Steel returns from her winter hiatus to Sky One in March.
All is not good in National City. Having been beaten by Reign (Odette Annable), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is in a coma and her people are panicked. Enter the Legion of Superheroes. Pulled in by the DEO to help bring a halt to Reign’s evil rampage, they get to work trying to bring her down.
Meanwhile, Mon-El (Chris Wood) turns to one of its members, super-genius Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath – ‘No Tomorrow’, ‘Defiance’), as he desperately tries to bring Supergirl back.
If you are wondering why ‘Supergirl’ is so late this year, it’s due to The CW and their wacky US scheduling. They brought the show back for 4 episodes in January, but then took it off and replaced it with ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’. Once that show finishes it’s run in April, ‘Supergirl’ will air again. So, weirdly, despite ‘Supergirl’ airing much later than the other shows, by the time the US start airing it again, we will only be one week behind them as normal. It just means Sky One will air it as one solid block, rather than having a massive break in the middle.
‘Supergirl‘ returns to Sky One on Monday, 26th March 2018 at 8:00 pm.
