Syfy UK Sets An August Premiere Date For Sci-Fi Drama ‘Reverie’
Syfy UK has set an August premiere date For NBC’s sci-fi drama ‘Reverie‘ they announced today.
The show comes from the creator of ‘Extant’, Mickey Fisher, and follows Mara Kint (Sarah Shahi – ‘Person of Interest’), a former hostage negotiator and expert on human behaviour, who became a college professor after facing an unimaginable personal tragedy. But when her former boss, Charlie Ventana (Dennis Haysbert – ’24’, ‘The Unit’), brings her in to save ordinary people who have lost themselves in an immersive, highly advanced virtual reality program in which users can live out their wildest dreams, she finds that in saving others, she may actually have discovered a way to save herself.
Sendhil Ramamurthy (‘Heroes’), Kathryn Morris (‘Cold Case’) and Jessica Lu (‘Awkward’) also star.
The announcement arrived in the form of a launch date posted to www.onira.tech, a website for Onira-Tech, the fictional company who created Reverie, the virtual reality world in the show. According to the site, Reverie is a highly advanced virtual reality program that enables users to live their wildest dreams. In Reverie, you can go anywhere you want to go, be whoever you want to be, and experience whatever you want to experience. The highly advanced program can even recreate old memories and resurrect loved ones by uploading their digital footprint. Using their pictures, videos and social media activity to create a bespoke and personalised Reverie experience. You can see their presentation video below:
