Hulu has released the first full trailer for the upcoming Stephen King based drama Castle Rock… And before anyone asks, no, there isn’t a UK air date yet.

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, ‘Castle Rock’ combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: ‘Cujo’, ‘The Dark Half’, ‘IT’ and ‘Needful Things’, as well as novella ‘The Body’ and numerous short stories such as ‘Rita Hayworth’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock.

‘Castle Rock’ is an original suspense/thriller – a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.

The cast includes André Holland (‘Moonlight’, ‘The Knick’, ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’), Melanie Lynskey (‘Girlboss’, ‘Two and a Half Men’), Sissy Spacek (‘Carrie’), Jane Levy (‘Shameless US’, ‘Suburgatory’), Terry O’Quinn (‘Lost’, ‘Hawaii Five-O’), and Bill Skarsgård, who recently terrified coulrophobia sufferers everywhere, as Pennywise in ‘It’.

The show is written by Sam Shaw (‘Manhattan’, ‘Masters of Sex’) and Dustin Thomason (‘Lie To Me’, ‘Manhattan’), and comes from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.

As we said at the top of the article, there’s still no UK broadcaster or air date for the series on this side of the pond, but we suspect it will land here at some point. For our American cousins, Castle Rock airs on Hulu from July 25, 2018.
