As things ramp up for New York Comic Con tomorrow, CBS has released the first poster for their upcoming dark, twisted drama ‘Tell Me A Story‘ from ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Kevin Williamson.
‘Tell Me A Story’ takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. Set in modern-day New York City, the first season of this serialized drama interweaves “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel and Gretel” into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder.
The show has an impressive cast and includes a number of people from Williamson’s previous work. Paul Wesley (best known as TVD’s Stefan) plays Eddie, a derelict and troubled individual whose petulance is fueled even more by his problems with drugs and alcohol. ‘The Originals’ Davina, Danielle Campbell, joins the show as Kayla, whose life has gone a little off the rails since the loss of her mother and moving to NYC to live with her dad.
Other cast includes: James Wolk (‘Zoo’, ‘Billions’) as Jordan, a young, idealistic and successful NYC restaurateur whose life begins to fall apart; Billy Magnussen (‘Maniac’, ‘Black Mirror’, ‘Get Shorty’) as Nick, a young high school teacher who’s handsome, seductive, and quite possibly a wolf in sheep’s clothing; Dania Ramirez (‘The Sopranos’, ‘Once Upon A Time’) plays Hannah, a young Army vet who has returned from the war with scars both inside and out; And Kim Cattrall (‘Sex In The City’) stars as Colleen, an unlikely and very non-traditional grandmother. Sam Jaeger (‘The Handmaid’s Tale’), Davi Santos (‘Power Rangers Dino Charge’), Zabryna Guevara (‘Gotham’) and Dorian Missick (‘The Good Wife’) also star.
For those of you lucky enough to be heading to New York Comic-Con 2018, ‘Tell Me A Story’ will host a panel on Friday, Oct. 5 from 5:15-6:00 PM, ET at the Javits Center in Room 1A06. Participating cast includes Paul Wesley (Eddie), James Wolk (Jordan), Dania Ramirez (Hannah), Billy Magnussen (Nick), and Danielle Campbell (Kayla) along with executive producer Kevin Williamson.
‘Tell Me A Story‘ doesn’t yet have a UK broadcaster, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear something.
