‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Season 1 Recap Video
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ Season 2 arrives on Amazon Prime this December, but for those of you that need reminding of the events of Season 1, Amazon Prime has released this handy recap video for you.
If you haven’t caught ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ yet, I urge you to go and watch Season 1, which is on Amazon Prime UK right now. The first season garnered 14 Emmy nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Rachel Brosnahan), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Tony Shalhoub), and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Alex Borstein).
The hilarious comedy follows Rachel Brosnahan (‘House of Cards’) as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman who had everything she’d ever wanted – the perfect husband, two kids, and an elegant Upper West Side apartment perfect for hosting Yom Kippur dinner. But her perfect life suddenly took an unexpected turn and Midge discovers a previously unknown talent – one that changes her life forever. She charts a course that takes her from her comfortable life on Riverside Drive, through the basket houses and nightclubs of Greenwich Village as she storms the world of stand-up comedy… a course that will ultimately lead her to a spot on Johnny Carson’s couch.
The cast also includes Golden Globe winner and three-time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub (‘Monk’) as Midge’s father Abe Weissman, Alex Borstein (‘Family Guy’) as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen (‘Boardwalk Empire’) as Midge’s husband Joel Maisel, Marin Hinkle (‘Two and a Half Men’) as Midge’s mother Rose Weissman.
The show comes from ‘Gilmore Girls’ creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, and if you are fans of that series, I urge you to seek out ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ on Amazon, as it has the same glorious writing.
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ Season 2 premieres on Amazon Prime on Wednesday, 5th December 2018.
