E4 Sets Premiere Dates For ‘Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special’ & ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 1

E4 has started to roll out its newly acquired Adult Swim content, as it sets UK premiere dates for the Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special and Rick and Morty Season 1.

For the uninitiated, ‘Robot Chicken’ sees Seth Green and Matthew Senreich bring action figures to life through the old-school magic of stop-motion animation in their award-winning, twisted popular culture parody. In this special edition, ‘The Walking Dead’ gets the hilarious ‘Robot Chicken’ treatment as the tale of Rick Grimes and his walker-battling friends has a warped retelling when the Robot Chicken Nerd visits the Walking Dead Museum and meets an ageing survivor.

As often happens with the ‘Robot Chicken’ parodies, the special will feature the voices of the actual actors. Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal and Norman Reedus from ‘The Walking Dead’ all guest star.

If you’ve yet to catch the genius of ‘Rick and Morty’, now is your chance, as Season 1 of the anarchic animated series lands on E4. The critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning animation follows the adventures of a genius inventor grandfather and his less-than-genius grandson. Missing for nearly 20 years, drunken scientist Rick has arrived on his daughter Beth’s doorstep looking to move in, but her husband Jerry isn’t too thrilled. Rick converts the garage into his laboratory and involves easily influenced grandson Morty in his insane misadventures as they split their time between family life at home and inter-dimensional travels.

The series comes from the somewhat warped brains of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. Roiland voices both Rick and Morty, with Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer and Sarah Chalke providing vocals for the rest of the long-suffering family. Adult Swim renewed the show in May 2018 for a staggering 70 episodes!

Rick and Morty‘ Season 1 premieres on E4 Friday, 15th February 2019 at 10pm with a double bill. That’s followed by ‘Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special – Look Who’s Walking‘ at 11.05pm. Channel 4 has also confirmed the “first batch” of Adult Swim content will land on All 4 on 15th February 2019 (we don’t know exactly what will be in that “first batch” yet, but go and check out All 4 on the 15th to find out!)
