Ryan Murphy’s groundbreaking US drama Pose finally has a UK premiere date, as BBC Two announce Season 1 will arrive this March.

The universally-acclaimed hit drama from Ryan Murphy, which is arguably one of the most groundbreaking series ever produced, examines New York’s transgender-Ball culture of the late 1980’s and the LGBTQ community during the growing HIV crisis. After receiving a life-changing medical diagnosis, Blanca becomes determined to open her own house. She starts by taking in 17 year-old Damon, a talented dancer.

Making television history, Pose features the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, as well as the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors ever for a scripted series. The drama stars Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Billy Porter, Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Charlayne Woodard, Dyllón Burnside, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross, Angel Bismark Curiel and Sandra Bernhard.

‘Pose’ has already been ordered for a second season for 2019. The eight-episode first season is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions. The drama comes to BBC Two as part of the overall carriage the BBC has signed with US network FX, which also sees other FX shows, such as Mayans M.C., Devs and What We Do In The Shadows come to the UK broadcaster.

Pose‘ Season 1 premieres in the UK on Thursday, 21st March 2019 at 9pm on BBC Two.
