E4 Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Batwoman’ Season 1
E4 has set a UK premiere date for ‘Batwoman‘ Season 1 the broadcaster has announced today.
Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a saviour, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
Joining Ruby Rose (‘Orange Is The New Black’) as Kate Kane/Batwoman, are Camrus Johnson (‘Luke Cage’) as Luke Fox/Batwing, Meagan Tandy (‘Teen Wolf’) as Kate’s ex-girlfriend, Sophie Moore, & Nicole Kang (‘YOU’) as Kate’s step-sister, Mary Hamilton. Rachel Skarsten (‘Lost Girl’, ‘Reign’) plays villain Alice, leader of the Wonderland Gang, and Dougray Scott (‘Mission: Impossible II’, ‘Fear The Walking Dead’) stars as Kate’s father, Jacob Kane.
In the first-ever episode, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, a highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. The show comes from writer/producer Caroline Dries, who also wrote the last year’s crossover episode which featured the character. Her previous work includes The Vampire Diaries’, ‘Melrose Place’ and ‘Smallville’. David Nutter (‘Game Of Thrones’), who previously launched both ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’, directed the pilot. Dries exec-produces with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, David Nutter and director Marcos Siega.
‘Batwoman‘ Season 1 premieres Sunday, 29th March at 9pm on E4 in the UK.
