Amazon Prime Sets June UK Premiere Date For ‘This is Us’ Season 4
Amazon Prime has announced ‘This Is Us‘ Season 4 will land as a boxset this June on the UK streaming service.
‘This Is Us’ chronicles the Pearson family across the decades: from Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) as young parents in the 1980s to their 37-year-old kids, Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) searching for love and fulfilment in the present day. This grounded, life-affirming dramedy reveals how the tiniest events in our lives impact who we become, and how the connections we share with each other can transcend time, distance and even death.
This will be the second season Amazon has premiered in the UK, after the show was dropped by Channel 4 last year following their broadcast of the first two seasons. Whilst ‘This Is Us’ has been a mega-hit in the US, the drama has struggled to find a foothold on this side of the Atlantic (although that is arguably due to it being shoved around from Channel 4 to More4, and changing broadcast times…)
Back in May last year, NBC announced ‘This Is Us’ as the first show on the network to land a huge three-season renewal, taking it up to Season 6. The series has picked up a multitude of awards, along with widespread acclaim from critics, and is the most-watched drama on any US broadcast network in 18-49 demographic, as well as the number two drama in total viewers. Following the three-season renewal for ‘This Is Us’, NBC then decided to do the same with brilliant medical drama ‘New Amsterdam’ along with all three of the current ‘Chicago’ series and ‘Law & Order: SVU’.
