Trailer Arrives For BBC Two/HBO Drama ‘Industry’ Coming Later This Year

by Dave Elliott

The first trailer for BBC/HBO finance drama Industry has landed online, which follows a group of ambitious young graduates competing for a limited number of permanent positions at a leading international investment bank in London.

The drama gives an insider’s view of the “blackbox” of high finance through the eyes of an outsider – Harper Stern (Myha’la Herrold), a talented young woman from upstate New York. Fuelled by ambition, youth and romance, ‘Industry’ examines issues of gender, race, class, and privilege in the workplace as five impressionable young minds begin to forge their identities within the pressure-cooker environment and sensory blitz of Pierpoint & Co’s trading floor, where meritocracy is promised but hierarchy is king.

The ensemble cast includes Myha’la Herrold (‘The Tattooed Heart’), Marisa Abela (‘Cobra’), Harry Lawtey (‘Marcella’), David Jonsson (‘Deep State’), Nabhaan Rizwan (‘Informer’), Freya Mavor (‘The ABC Murders’), Will Tudor (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Humans’), Conor Macneill (‘Death and Nightingales’) and Ken Leung (‘Marvel’s Inhumans’, ‘The Blacklist’).

‘Industry’ comes from first-time creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay who also exec produce. Jane Tranter, Lachlan MacKinnon, Ryan Rasmussen, David P. Davis also exec produce, along with Ben Irving for BBC. The series is produced for BBC & HBO by Bad Wolf (‘A Discovery of Witches’, ‘His Dark Materials’). Writers include Kay, Down, playwright Sam H. Freeman and Kate Verghese (‘Holby City’). Directors include Lena Dunham (‘Girls’), Ed Lilly (‘VS’), Tinge Krishnan (‘Junkhearts’), and Mary Nighy (‘Traces’, ‘Silent Witness’).

Industry‘ Season 1 premieres Monday, November 9, 2020, at 10pm on HBO in the USA, and at some point after that in 2020 on BBC Two/iPlayer in the UK (exact day/time TBC).
