‘The Continental’: Peter Greene, Ayomide Adegun & Jeremy Bobb Join Cast Of John Wick Series Coming To Starzplay UK
STARZPLAY UK has announced three new cast members for special event series ‘The Continental‘, an adaptation of the blockbuster Lionsgate film franchise ‘John Wick’, coming to STARZ in the U.S. and STARZPLAY across its complete footprint in Europe, Latin America, and Japan.
‘The Continental’ will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, the centrepiece of the John Wick universe, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.
Peter Greene (‘Training Day’, ‘For Life’) has been cast in the role of “Uncle Charlie;” Newcomer Ayomide Adegun has been cast in the role of “Charon;” And Jeremy Bobb (‘Russian Doll’, ‘The Knick’) has been cast in the role of “Mayhew.” As previously announced, Colin Woodell (‘The Flight Attendant’, ‘The Originals’) plays the series lead “Winston Scott” the younger version of the iconic character from the John Wick film franchise, whose origin story is told through the event series.
Other cast includes Hubert Point-Du Jour (‘Dr. Death’, ‘The Good Lord Bird’) as “Miles,” Jessica Allain (‘The Laundromat’) as “Lou,” Mishel Prada (‘Riverdale’) as “KD,” Nhung Kate (‘The Housemaid’) as “Yen,” Mel Gibson (‘Braveheart’) as “Cormac,” and Ben Robson (‘Animal Kingdom’, ‘Vikings’) as “Frankie.”
Executive Producers Greg Coolidge (‘Wayne’, ‘Ride Along’) and Kirk Ward (‘The Turkey Bowl’, ‘Wayne’) will write the event series and serve as showrunners. Executive Producer Albert Hughes (‘The Good Lord Bird’, ‘The Book of Eli’) will direct the first and third episodes while executive producing all three. Charlotte Brändström (‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Witcher’) will direct the second episode. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger will also serve as executive producers.
Drawing upon the collaborative efforts of Lionsgate’s film, television and Starz platforms, ‘The Continental’ continues the growth of a franchise that has already generated three hit films that have grossed nearly $584.2 million at the worldwide box office and a successful virtual reality mobile game. John Wick: Chapter Four is currently shooting in Germany, France and Japan
