Amazon has released the full trailer for the 6th and final season of brilliant sci-fi drama ‘The Expanse‘, which is set to premiere this December on the streaming service.
Based on the novels by James S. A. Corey, the series is set in a colonised solar system and begins with the governments of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt locked in long-standing conflict. The crew of the Rocinante – an illegally salvaged warship – stumbles on a vast conspiracy and a mysterious alien technology that threatens to upend the balance of power and the fate of humanity.
The fifth season saw multitudes of humans leave the solar system in search of new homes and vast fortunes on the earth-like worlds beyond the alien Ring, and a heavy price for centuries of exploitation of the Belt finally came due… For the crew of the Rocinante and the leaders of the Inner Planets and the Belt, the past and present converged, bringing forth personal challenges that had wide-reaching repercussions throughout the Solar System.
The sixth and final season picks up with the solar system at war, as Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continue to launch devastating asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars. As the tensions of war and shared loss threaten to pull the crew of the Rocinante apart, Chrisjen Avasarala makes a bold move and sends former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper on a secret mission that could turn the tide of the conflict. Meanwhile, in the Belt, Drummer and what’s left of her family are on the run after betraying Marco. And on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power begins to rise.
Series stars Steven Strait (Holden), Dominique Tipper (Naomi), Wes Chatham (Amos), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Avasarala), Cara Gee (Drummer), Frankie Adams (Bobbie), Keon Alexander (Marco), Nadine Nicole (Clarissa), and Jasai Chase Owens (Filip) who reunite for the most epic season yet.
‘The Expanse‘ Season 6 premieres Friday, 10th December 2021, with new episodes available each Friday following, culminating in an epic series finale episode on 14th January 2022.
