Starzplay has announced more casting for their upcoming John Wick spin-off series The Continental, which is set to premiere on the streaming service internationally, and on Starz in the USA.

The special event series will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, the centrepiece of the John Wick universe, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Katie McGrath (‘Supergirl’, ‘Merlin’) take the role of “The Adjudicator”; Ray McKinnon (‘Dopesick’, ‘Mayans/Sons Of Anarchy’, ‘Deadwood’) will play “Jenkins”; Adam Shapiro (‘Never Have I Ever’, ‘The Affair’, ‘Sense8’) has been cast as ‘Lemmy”; Lastly, Mark Musashi and Marina Mazepa will play High Assassins “Hansel & Gretel.”

They join the previously announced cast of Colin Woodell (‘The Flight Attendant’, ‘The Originals’) as the series lead “Winston Scott,” the younger version of the iconic character from the John Wick film franchise, whose origin story is told through the event series; Hubert Point-Du Jour (‘The Good Lord Bird’, ‘Dr. Death’) as “Miles”; Jessica Allain (‘The Laundromat’) as “Lou”; Mishel Prada (‘Riverdale’) as “KD”; Nhung Kate (‘The Housemaid’) as “Yen”; Mel Gibson as “Cormac”; Ben Robson (‘Animal Kingdom’, ‘Vikings’) as “Frankie”; Peter Greene (‘For Life’, ‘Pulp Fiction’) as “Uncle Charlie”; Ayomide Adegun as “Charon”; And Jeremy Bobb (‘The Outsider’, ‘Jessica Jones’) as “Mayhew.”

‘The Continental’ is an adaptation of the blockbuster Lionsgate film franchise John Wick, written by Derek Kolstad. Executive Producers Greg Coolidge (‘Wayne’, ‘Ride Along’) and Kirk Ward (‘The Turkey Bowl’, ‘Wayne’) will write the event series and serve as showrunners.

Executive producer Albert Hughes (‘The Good Lord Bird’, ‘The Book of Eli’) will direct “Night One” and “Night Three” while executive producing all three. Charlotte Brändström (‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Witcher’) will direct “Night Two.”

Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger will also serve as executive producers.

The John Wick film franchise has grossed more than $600 million at the global box office with each instalment nearly doubling the box office of the previous one. ‘John Wick: Chapter Four’ is currently shooting in Germany, France and Japan.

The Continental‘ does not yet have a premiere date, but will air on STARZPLAY in the UK and STARZ in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
