‘Man Vs Bee’: Rowan Atkinson Comedy Gets June Premiere On Netflix

Netflix has announced new comedy series Man Vs Bee, which stars Rowan Atkinson as the titular man, will premiere this June on the streaming service.

Renowned actor and comedian Rowan Atkinson plays a new character in this riotous comedy. A man finds himself at war with a bee while housesitting a luxurious mansion. Who will win, and what irreparable damage will be done in the process?

The series reteams Atkinson with his long-time collaborator William Davies as co-writers on the series. The duo previously worked together on the ‘Johnny English’ films. Davies’ credits also include Netflix’s ‘The Letter for the King’, along with the films ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, ‘Puss in Boots’, and ‘Twins’. Atkinson is, of course, best known internationally as the star of ‘Mr. Bean’, ‘Blackadder’ and the ‘Johnny English’ movies.

David Kerr serves as director, who previously directed ‘Johnny English Strikes Again’, along with multiple episodes of tv series including ‘Inside No. 9’, ‘No Offence’, and ‘Fresh Meat’, along with many others. Karl Oskarsson (‘Borgen’, ‘The Duchess’) serves as cinematographer, with Carly Reddin (‘Hanna’, ‘Top Boy’) providing production design.

Atkinson’s HouseSitter Productions produce the series, with Davies and Chris Clark (‘The Letter for the King’, ‘Johnny English’ films) as exec producers. Kate Fasulo (‘Stan & Ollie’) is co-producer. The series is 10-episodes long, however, much like ‘Mr. Bean’, it is a “short-form” comedy, with each episode being around the ten-minute mark.

Man Vs Bee‘ premieres Friday, 24th June 2022 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
