The CW Orders ‘Gotham Knights’, ‘Walker: Independence’ & ‘The Winchesters’ To Series

Following their murderous rampage, The CW has calmed the blood lust enough to order three new series. New DC drama Gotham Knights, ‘Walker’ prequel series Walker: Independence, and ‘Supernatural’ prequel series The Winchesters‘.

Gotham Knights is set in the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, where his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviours known as the Gotham Knights.

The project comes from Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fiveash, who all worked on ‘Batwoman’. Stoteraux and Fiveash, who also worked on ‘Gotham’, exec produce along with Berlanti Productions Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden. Abrams co-executive produces.

Walker: Independence is a prequel to the Jared Padalecki-led series ‘Walker’. Set in the late 1800s. It follows Abby Walker (Katherine McNamara), an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West. On her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr), a lovable rogue in search of purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter diverse, eclectic residents running from their own troubled pasts and chasing their dreams, all while becoming agents of change themselves in the small town.

The series comes from ‘Walker’ co-exec producer Seamus Fahey, based on a story by him and ‘Walker’ creator, Anna Fricke. The duo exec produce alongside Jared Padalecki. CBS Studios serve as the studio.

The Winchesters is a prequel to the much-beloved ‘Supernatural’. Before Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. ‘The Winchesters’ will be told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles reprising his role for the voiceover), and is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.

Meg Donnelly (American Housewife’) plays Mary Campbell. At 19 years old, Mary has been fighting the forces of darkness since she was a child. After losing someone close to her, the hardened hunter considers quitting the family business – until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John Winchester forces her to lead a new team.

Drake Rodger (The In Between’) plays John Winchester. Recently returned from Vietnam, the selfless and clearheaded John finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter.

The series comes from Jensen and Danneel Ackles who executive produce through their company, Chaos Machine Productions, alongside Robbie Thompson, former co-executive producer of ‘Supernatural’. Chaos Machine produces in association with Warner Bros. TV and CBS Studios.

As all three of these shows have just been announced, they don’t have a UK premiere date. If you want to keep track of these or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
