TV Premiere Highlights Coming To Disney+ UK In October 2022

As we head into the spooky month of October, Disney+ UK is bringing with it zombies, werewolves, terrifying aliens and… high school basketball? We return for the finale part of the main ‘Walking Dead’ show (although the franchise is still very much alive and kicking), along with a one-off Marvel special, some Star Wars animated shorts, and a new season of ‘War Of The Worlds’. They also have plenty of additions from Disney’s FX, Nat Geo, and Hulu brands. Here are the highlights from Disney+ UK in October 2022.

Disney+ Originals & UK Exclusive October Highlights

The Walking Dead, Season 11, Part 3 (Final) – 3rd October 2022 (Series)

The concluding part of the epic zombie series comes to a close. As each group continues to get caught in uncontrollable situations, dangers lurk around every corner — both dead and alive. The looming pressure is cresting towards a day of reckoning for all, but will the sum of their individual journeys cumulate into one, or divide them forever? The fight for a future continues to be threatened by the ominous and growing population of walkers. Not all will survive, but for some, the walking dead lives on…

The Bear, Season 1 – 5th October 2022 (Series)

‘The Bear’ follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the fine dining world, who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland – after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother’s suicide. The Bear is about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of Sense of Urgency and the steep slippery downsides. As Carmy fights to transform both The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveal themselves as his chosen family.

Marvel’s Werewolf By Night – 7th October 2022 (Special)

The one-off special comes from first-time director (and longtime composer) Michael Giacchino and is a proper “old school” black-and-white TV horror special. The story follows Jack (Gael García Bernal), who tries to protect his family, his small town in Arizona, and himself after becoming the new Werewolf by Night. The special also stars Harriet Sansom Harris and Laura Donnelly.

Candy – 12th October 2022 (Series)

Candy Montgomery is a 1980 housewife and mother who did everything right – a good husband, two kids, a nice house, even the careful planning and execution of transgressions – but when the pressure of conformity builds within her, her actions scream for just a bit of freedom until someone tells her to shush. With deadly results.

Big Shot, Season 2 – 12th October 2022 (Series)

Marvyn’s (John Stamos) latest plan toward relevance is to get his team broadcast on ESPN, and his method is to recruit an unlikely player: Ava (Sara Echeagaray), a gutsy beach volleyball phenom whose public tantrum got her ousted from her own sport. Between losing their assistant coach Holly Barrett (Jessalyn Gilsig) to a rival school, new friction amongst teammates, a sudden and unexpected proximity to boys, and off-the-court disasters that no one could’ve predicted this season, the Westbrook Sirens have even more to prove.

Rosaline – 14th October 2022 (Film)

‘Rosaline’ offers a fresh and comedic twist on Shakespeare’s classic love story Romeo & Juliet, told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, who also happens to be Romeo’s recent love interest. Heartbroken when Romeo meets Juliet and begins to pursue her, Rosaline schemes to foil the famous romance and win back her guy.

War Of The Worlds, Season 3 – 19th October 2022 (Series)

Set in present-day France and the U.K.,?Season Three picks up as the war between the survivors and aliens reaches a new turning point and a terrifying phenomenon grips countless people across the globe. With stakes at an all-time high, one survivor sets out to investigate, forming a tentative partnership with another unlikely hero along the way. The pair will need to use every resource they have available to face an opposition more dangerous than ever in their fight, once again, for the survival of all humanity.

The Mysterious Benedict Society, Season 2 – 26th October 2022 (Series)

This season, Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance, the four gifted orphans who were recruited by the eccentric Mr. Benedict (Tony Hale), embark on another mission to save the world from the nefarious plans of his twin brother Dr. L.D. Curtain (also Hale). When the kids discover that Mr. Benedict and Number Two have been kidnapped, they must piece together the riddles and clues within a perilous scavenger hunt set by Mr. Benedict to foil Curtain’s latest scheme. Relying on only their wits, intellect, and empathy, the charming group of misfits embark on a globe-trotting adventure by air, land, sea and pie truck, calling upon their special skills to solve the mysteries and rescue their lost comrades. Along the way, the kids experience the growing pains that come along with being part of their new “found family”, while remaining true to their unique selves. In the process, they discover what true happiness really means.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – 26th October 2022 (Shorts Series)

The six-episode series of animated shorts from Dave Filoni is described as “Two Stories of Fate. One Destiny.” Those two halves are represented by Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. The new series features both of these iconic characters in three distinct eras of their lives (each will receive three episodes). In the case of Dooku, we will see a young version of the character when he was still a Jedi, along with his Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn. Liam Neeson (and his son) return to voice the fan-favourite character. On the Ahsoka side, we are introduced to Pav-ti, her mother, voiced by Janina Gavankar.

Other Notable Additions

Outside of the various premieres above, a few older movies and tv shows are also dropping onto the service this month. Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 joins the streaming service from the 5th October 2022, ahead of the upcoming 19th Season (which does not yet have a UK premiere date but, as we revealed recently, will stream exclusively on Disney+ UK from now on.) On the movie side, ‘Spider-man 3’ swings onto the service from 21st October 2022, along with ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, which lands 28th October 2022.
