Netflix Renews Noah Centineo’s ‘The Recruit’ For Season 2
In a rare moment of clarity, Netflix has actually remembered it is sometimes a good idea to renew some shows and has given a second season to dramedy spy series ‘The Recruit‘.
From Alexi Hawley, creator of ‘The Rookie’, the series centres around Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo – ‘Black Adam’, ‘The Fosters’), a young CIA lawyer whose first week on the job turns upside down when he discovers a threatening letter by former asset Max Meladze (Laura Haddock – ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘White Lines’), who plans to expose the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime. Owen quickly becomes entangled in a dangerous and often absurd world of power politics and mischievous players, as he travels the world in hopes of completing his assignment and making a mark at the CIA.
“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit,” commented Hawley. “Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to ’11’ in Season Two.”
Alongside Centineo and Haddock, the series also stars Aarti Mann (‘Big Bang Theory’), Daniel Quincy Annoh, Vondie Curtis-Hall (‘Daredevil’, ‘Chicago Hope’), Kristian Bruun (‘Orphan Black’, ‘Murdoch Mysteries’), Colton Dunn (‘Superstore’), and Fivel Stewart (‘Atypical’).
The dramedy is executive produced by Centineo, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, David Bartis and Adam Ciralsky and Alexi Hawley who also serves as Creator and Showrunner. Liman (‘The Bourne Identity’, ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’) also directed the opening episodes.
