‘La Brea’ Renewed For Season 3 By NBC

NBC has renewed the wonderfully entertaining La Brea for a 3rd Season the US network has announced.

The series, which runs on Paramount+ in the UK, follows an epic family adventure after a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles pulling people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous primaeval land where they have no choice but to band together to survive.

The second season, which returns tonight in the USA for part two (it’ll be later in the year for the UK), begins with the Harris family remaining separated, as Eve is reeling from her son, Josh, having mistakenly gone through a portal to 1988. What she doesn’t know yet is that her ex-husband, Gavin, and their daughter, Izzy, have landed in prehistoric Seattle and now must brave the elements and animals to make their way to L.A.

The cast includes Natalie Zea (‘Justified’, ‘The Following’, ‘The Unicorn’), Eoin Macken (‘Merlin’, The Night Shift’), Nicholas Gonzalez (‘The Good Doctor’) as Levi, Chiké Okonkwo (‘Being Mary Jane’) as Ty, Zyra Gorecki, Jack Martin (‘All Rise’), Veronica St. Clair (’13 Reasons Why’), Rohan Mirchandaney (‘Hotel Mumbai’), Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie (‘Filthy Rich’), Tonantzin Carmelo and Michelle Vergara Moore.

Writer David Appelbaum (‘NCIS: New Orleans’) executive produces with Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Steven Lilien, Bryan Wynbrandt, Ken Woodruff, Arika Lisanne Mittman, Adam Davidson and Chris Hollier.

‘La Brea’ is produced by Universal Television and Australia’s Matchbox Pictures, both divisions of Universal Studio Group, in association with Keshet Studios.

La Brea‘ Seasons 1, and Season 2a can be found on Paramount+ UK, and on Peacock in the USA. Season 2b begins tonight (Jan 31, 2023) in the USA with double episodes on NBC from 9pm.

We don’t yet have a confirmed premiere for Season 2b in the UK, but it’s likely to be around Spring 2023, as Paramount+ UK airs it as a boxset. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.

Beggars belief. I watched the first season (kind of a morbid fascination more than anything else) but it was poorly written, poorly acted, had fairy poor production standards and, moreover, was based on an utterly preposterous premise (when I started watching it, I’d assumed that there’d be a comedy element, but it took itself absolutely seriously). Started watching the second season and even my morbid fascination wasn’t enough to keep me watching. Honestly, they renew this and cancel Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist?

Never watched it because of the awful Imdb reviews. Why renew this when so much good stuff is cancelled? It’s just barmy!
