TV Premiere Highlights Coming To Disney+ UK In August 2023

As we hit Summer on Disney+ UK, the streaming service is providing some great content so you can stay indoors and avoid the heat (or, as it’s the UK, rain…). Lots of Murder, a new Star Wars series, the last outing for this iteration of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘, and ‘Mayans MC’ gets one final ride, plus loads more. Here are all the highlights from Disney+ UK in August 2023.

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 3 – 2nd August 2023 (Film)

In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits return – but they’re looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), still reeling from a terrible loss, must rally his team and embark on a dicey, action-packed mission to defend the universe and save Rocket. Meanwhile, a new and unpredictable force threatens to bring the Guardians down for good.

The Randall Scandal: Love, Loathing & Vanderpump – 4th August 2023 (Documentary)

You’ve heard all about #Scandoval, but the most explosive scandal raging behind the scenes of “Vanderpump Rules” is The Randall Scandal. This documentary from ABC News Studios and LA Times Studios charts the unbelievable tale of B-movie mogul Randall Emmett who rose to fame on the heels of his engagement to Bravo megastar Lala Kent. When their relationship publicly collapses and a bitter custody dispute ensues, Randall is caught up in a swarm of bombshell allegations and lawsuits that rock Hollywood.

Only Murders In The Building, Season 3 – 8th August 2023 (Series)

Season 3 finds Charles, Oliver & Mabel (played by Steve Martin, Martin Short & Selena Gomez) investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show. Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), our trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together. Curtains up!

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Season 4 – 9th August 2023 (Series)

Season four of the Emmy and TCA Award nominated series will see the Wildcats returning to East High, where they prepare a stage production of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” But, in a meta twist signature to the series, plans are disrupted when Disney announces that the long-awaited “High School Musical 4: The Reunion” movie will shoot on location at their beloved high school.

Moving, Season 1 – 9th August 2023 (Series)

A South Korean series which follows three teenagers who look like ordinary students, but they have special abilities that they inherited from their parents. These three students try to hide their special abilities from other people, while their parents struggle to protect them from being used by other people.

Jagged Mind – 11th August 2023 (Film)

Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Shannon Woodward star in a queer psychological thriller, directed by Kelley Kali. A woman plagued by blackouts and strange visions discovers she’s stuck in a series of time loops, possibly related to her mysterious new girlfriend.

Star Wars: Ahsoka – 23rd August 2023 (Series)

Set after the fall of the Empire, Star Wars: Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge – 23rd August 2023 (Series)

Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, famed survivalist Bear Grylls is taking it up a level. This time, he’s teaching his celebrity guests essential survival skills that they’ll have to master and then prove they can use in a high-stress situation. Challenges and locations span the snowy peaks of the Canadian Rockies, the deserts of the Great Basin, and the volcanic rainforests of Costa Rica. Follow along as celebrities push their bodies and minds to the limit, attempting to successfully complete life-changing adventures that will challenge their perceived limitations.

A Murder At The End Of The World – 29th August 2023 Moved to later in 2023 (Series)

FX’s A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series with a new kind of detective at the helm – a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker named “Darby Hart” (Emma Corrin). Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life. NOTE: This release has been delayed until later in 2023.

Mayans MC, Season 5 – 30th August 2023 (Series)

Mayans M.C. follows the life of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, president of the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. EZ has now risen to lead his brother Angel and the Santo Padre M.C. in a bloody war against their rival Sons of Anarchy. Defending the California territory and patch begins to claim lives within the club and causes strain between EZ and Angel.

Other Notable Additions

Outside of the various premieres above, there is also a number of older 30s/40s Disney cartoons being added to the service, including Barnyard Olympics (1932), Mickey’s Steam Roller (1934), Donald’s Nephews (1938), Donald’s Cousin Gus (1939), Goofy And Wilbur (1939), And The Flying Jalopy (1943) from Friday, 11th August 2023. Additionally, there is the movie Vacation Friends 2 landing on Friday, 25th August 2023, alongside the 4K Restored Version of the classic 1950 Disney animared movie Cinderella.
