Geektown Radio Episode 414: FFVII Remake, Shogun, Dick Turpin, Last Airbender, TV News & UK Air Dates!

Matt from Entertainment Talk joins Dave to chat TV shows and films!

by Dave Elliott

We are back with episode 414 of the Geektown Radio podcast! This week Matt From Entertainment Talk joins Dave to chat through the latest news in TV shows and films.

This week, Matt has been more focused on gaming than TV, as his “games to play” pile has gotten a little high! Not helping matters is a seventh playthrough of his beloved ‘Last Of Us 2’, but with the new season of the TV show back in the news (which we also talk about), he discusses his thoughts on what bits might make the transition from the game to the show. He also brings with him a review of ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’, and chats about ‘Young Sheldon’. Meanwhile, Dave has been catching up on new shows. Following the chat last week with Darryl, he reviews the live-action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ on Netflix, and the new Disney+ series ‘Shogun’ which landed last week. He also reviews the wonderfully silly ‘Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin’ on Apple TV+!

Moving into the news updates, we’ve got all the latest recent renewals, cancellations, and pickups, including the return of ‘Accused’ to Paramount+ UK, the end of ‘Alex Rider’ on Freevee, and ‘Miss Scarlet and The Duke’ getting a name change. We also discuss Sky Witness picking up ‘The Cleaning Lady’, Netflix getting into the medical procedural business, and Apple tackling another huge sci-fi novel! Listen below!
