Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for the film Thunderbolts*, due out in May 2025, which stars some of the MCU’s villains/antiheroes who unexpectedly find themselves grouped together on a mission.
The movie features Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, alongside Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, with Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.
The trailer, which has been floating around online for a while due to sneaky recordings at various Comic-Cons, shows Red Guardian and “depressed assassin” Yelena meeting before discovering they’d all been assigned to the same (deadly) mission, alongside Ghost, Taskmaster, Walker and Barnes… But have no idea why.
Thunderbolts* is directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Robot & Frank) with Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez and Scarlett Johansson all serving as executive producers.
One thing we still don’t know is why they added the “*” to the Thunderbolts title… We’ll have to wait and see if that is explained at some point!
‘Thunderbolts*’ is due to be released 2nd May 2025 in UK Cinemas.
