Sky Announces ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Will Get A June UK Premiere & Releases Season 2 Tease

by Dave Elliott

Sky has announced The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 will premiere this June in the UK, but to get you ready, they have released the opening minutes of the eight-episode season, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan.

‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ follows the popular Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) characters travelling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.

In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.

The series also stars Gaius Charles, Zeljko Ivanek, Mahina Anne Marie Napoleon, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Dascha Polanco and Kim Coates, amongst others.

Eli Jorné, who has been a writer and co-executive producer on ‘The Walking Dead’ for multiple seasons serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, along with Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Cohan, Morgan, Brian Bockrath, Michael Satrazemis and Colin Walsh.

Sky has not given an exact premiere date for ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City‘ Season 2, other than saying it will land in June 2025. The drama returns on May 4, 2025, on AMC in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
