Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of its Emmy, SAG and Critics’ Choice award-winning drama ‘The Morning Show‘, which returns this September.
Led by Jennifer Aniston (Friends) and Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies), who both star and executive produce, season four picks up in spring 2024, nearly two years after the events of season three. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom now faces the challenge of navigating newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarised America. In an age of deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups, the question is simple but chilling: who can you trust, and how do you know what’s real?
The returning ensemble cast includes Billy Crudup (Watchmen), Mark Duplass (The League), Nestor Carbonell (Lost), Karen Pittman (And Just Like That), Greta Lee (Russian Doll), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), and Jon Hamm (Mad Men). Season four also welcomes new additions Aaron Pierre (Old), William Jackson Harper (The Good Place), Boyd Holbrook (Narcos), and Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) and Jeremy Irons (Watchmen).
Behind the scenes, the series continues with showrunner and executive producer Charlotte Stoudt, and director and executive producer Mimi Leder, alongside Media Res founder Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, Lauren Neustadter (Hello Sunshine), and Kristin Hahn (Echo Films).
‘The Morning Show’ has been a critical darling since its launch. Season three earned 16 Emmy nominations, with Billy Crudup taking home his second win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, while previous seasons have seen recognition from the SAG Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and the American Film Institute’s Top 10 TV Programs of the Year.
