‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Trailer Reveals Fiery Disasters and Family Secrets

by Dave Elliott

ABC has dropped the official trailer for 9-1-1: Nashville, the newest spinoff in the hit procedural franchise, which is heading to Disney+ UK (though no premiere date has yet been confirmed). The clip wastes no time turning up the heat, showing Nashville’s firefighters tackling a terrifying storm while also throwing in a personal twist that’s bound to shake the firehouse to its core.

Get ready for some serious drama, because the trailer is a wild ride. A cold front slams into a warm one, unleashing fiery chaos across the city. Amidst the blazing destruction, the promo also teases heavy personal stakes, including a shocking revelation that influencer Hunter McVey’s Blue is actually the secret son of Chris O’Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles)’s Captain Don Hart — a surprise not just to the audience, but also to Don’s other son, Ryan, who already fights fires alongside his father. “We’re a family forged in fire,” one character declares, a line that feels like the show’s mission statement.

Chris O’Donnell leads as Captain Don Hart, a rugged rodeo rider and devoted family man with more secrets than expected. Jessica Capshaw (Grey’s Anatomy) plays Blythe, his wife, who works in the horse racing business and acts as the glue holding the family together. Country superstar LeAnn Rimes makes her series-regular TV debut as Dixie Bennings, Don’s former flame and mother to Blue, who encourages him to reconnect with his father.

The cast also features Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Nashville) as dispatcher Cammie Raleigh, Michael Provost (Insatiable) as Don and Blythe’s son Ryan, Hailey Kilgore (Power Book III: Raising Kanan) as firefighter and singer Taylor, Juani Feliz (Fleishman Is in Trouble) as adrenaline-chasing ex-trauma surgeon Roxie, and Hunter McVey as Blue, the haunted bad boy whose stripper gig turns into a firefighting career — and a long-lost family reunion.

Recurring guest stars include Tim Matheson (Virgin River) as ruthless old-money Southerner Edward, Gregory Alan Williams (The Righteous Gemstones) as fire station chief Harold Foster, and MacKenzie Porter (Hell on Wheels) as ER doctor Samantha Hart.

Behind the scenes, the series is steered by franchise veterans Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Rashad Raisani, Chad Lowe, Angela Bassett and Tim Minear. Minear explained the Nashville setting was chosen both for its unique Southern character and its ties to the country music scene, while also noting Tennessee’s production-friendly incentives.

9-1-1: Nashville‘ premieres Thursday, 9th October 2025 on ABC in the USA. A UK premiere date has not yet been confirmed, but the series will air on Disney+ UK.
