Sky has picked up the sharp and surreal US comedy-drama ‘The Miniature Wife’ for the UK & Ireland, ahead of its international debut at MIPCOM 2025. The series will air exclusively on Sky and NOW in 2026.
In ‘The Miniature Wife’, marriage takes an unexpectedly tiny turn when Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, The Hunger Games) is accidentally shrunk in a technological mishap, leaving her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), scrambling to adjust to their newly uneven dynamic. What follows is a darkly comic and imaginative exploration of love, ego, and control as their marriage becomes a literal power struggle — all within one very complicated household.
The cast also features Zoe Lister-Jones (Slip, Beau is Afraid), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent), Sian Clifford (Fleabag, The Ballad of Wallis Island), and Sofia Rosinsky (Paper Girls, Death and Other Details) as series regulars, with Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, The Daily Show), Rong Fu (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Hello (Again)) and Tricia Black (Small Achievable Goals, Pretty Hard Cases) in recurring roles.
Created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath), the series is based on the short story by Manuel Gonzales. Episodes are directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad, Nobody Wants This), who also serves as an executive producer alongside Banks, Macfadyen, Michael Aguilar, Suzanne Heathcote, and Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res (The Morning Show, Pachinko).
