‘Bait’ Sets March Premiere on Prime Video as Riz Ahmed Leads New Comedy Series

by Dave Elliott

Prime Video has unveiled first-look images and confirmed a March launch for Bait, a new six-part comedy series created by and starring Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal, The Night Of). The series follows a struggling actor whose shot at stardom threatens to send his entire life into freefall.

In ‘Bait’, Ahmed plays Shah Latif, an actor on the brink, whose “audition of a lifetime” unfolds over four increasingly chaotic days. As the pressure mounts, Shah finds himself judged not just by casting directors, but by his family, his ex, and seemingly everyone around him, all weighing in on whether he is the right man for the role.

The comedy also stars Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen) as Zulfi, Sheeba Chaddha (Bandish Bandits) as Tahira, Sajid Hasan as Parvez, Aasiya Shah (Unicorns) as Q, Weruche Opia (I May Destroy You) as Felicia, and Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy) as Yasmin.

Behind the camera, ‘Bait’ is executive produced by Ahmed and Allie Moore for Left Handed, with Jake Fuller producing on behalf of Jax Media. Ben Karlin serves as showrunner alongside Ahmed. The series is produced by Jax Media and Amazon MGM Studios. Directing duties are split between Bassam Tariq (episodes 1 to 3) and Tom George (episodes 4 to 6).

Bait’ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 25th March 2026 on Prime Video.
